::Annual Peters' Christmas Contest::

Second Annual Gingerbread House Competition! For the past two years we have each built our own gingerbread house around the Christmas holiday. We decided to incorporate our families a little this year and have them vote on the winner - results in soon!

So, we decided to make our own gingerbread this year - which was actually pretty tough.
The process of making the gingerbread...

The house decorations...

And here are the creations we came up with this year - Who do you think the winner should be?

Ok....I am voting for House #1.....but it was extremely close this year.....What did it for me was the detail on the roof on House #1....I like that.....but House #2 ...I love the trim on the sidewalk leading to the front door....also the "Cross" in the year.

REPORT.......

HOUSE #1 - Points awarded for the covered porch, architectural shingles, and landscaping!

HOUSE #2 - Points awarded for the Christmas tree with gifts seen through the window, the Cross, the walkway, the Gingerbread Man, and the Chimney!

SUMMARY: The death of House #2's Gingerbread Man in a freak accident and the structural collapse of its Chimney (which was unrelated to the Gingerbread's fatality) allowed House #2 to fall behind in the rankings...which opened the way for House #1 to take the lead in the contest.

VERDICT: House #1 takes the Gold!

I'm gonna have to go with house #1 guys. The deck and the roof did it for me. House #2 has some mess on the sides of the house. So #1 it is.

I am voting for House #1 mainly because of the front porch....House #2 was an out-standing Gingerbread barn.....sorry but I have to call it like I see it !!!!!!!!!!!
